Top 5 Things You Should Never Do On Facebook

Posted by Doug Greenwald Categories: Blogs

Facebook can be great for a lot of things. It can help you network, stay in touch, and be a safe place to express who you are. Although Facebook is a great platform there are many things you still should never do on Facebook. PTS Social Media and its team of creative writers constructed a list of the Top Five Things You Should Never Do On Facebook. Please let us know which one is your favorite.

Top 5 Things You Should Never Do On Facebook

***Number 5 *** Never befriend your mom. Now listen I know it’s your mom and you don’t want to be rude but you don’t want her necessarily knowing you went out for happy hour or have a new love interest.

‎***Number 4 *** Do not put your relationship drama as a status update on your Facebook profile page. I do not want to hear that you never loved anyone as much as him. I don’t want to hear that he broke your heart and now your tears are crying tears. At the end of the day Facebook is not the right platform to express how your relationship is going into the dirt.

***Number 3 *** If you go on vacation please do not post anymore than one album.   Is it just me or do we really need to see every museum you went to? Every church you saw? Every bite you took? Every blade of grass you stepped on? some things are just better left to the imagination.

***Number 2 *** Do not start or participate in a poking war with someone that you find cute. It may be fun at the start, but eventually you will find yourself obligated to poke in less you want to admit defeat.

***Number 1 *** Do not use Facebook as a way to say the things you always wanted too but didn’t have the guts. This includes do not break up with someone using Facebook. Do not ask someone out using Facebook. Do not quit a job using Facebook. Do not commit suicide using Facebook.

Facebook is amazing do not get me wrong, but there are certain things this fun platform is just not meant for.If you or your business want to know the correct way to use Facebook please  give us a call at 480-656-7235

  2. WHOOPS! I broke some of these rules already.

Let’s see I broke #5. I befriended my mom and my dad. What’s so horrible is they use it to spy on everyone. They spy on their kids and grandkids and probably other people too. My opinion however is if they see something they don’t like it’s their own fault for looking in the first place.

#4 was kind of hard for me too when I went through a divorce while on Facebook. I didn’t post a lot about it in comments or status updates but it was pretty tough. I had to go through and de-friend all her family, some of our mutual friends, etc. I was still seeing her status updates and pictures of her because mutual friends would comment on them. I ended up having to block her completely.
